Chapter 1 Teaser

The Bright Side of the Bridge

A teaser of what awaits inside the full story

It started as the best day of Robin’s life.

Twenty years of teaching, over. Three months of freedom stretching out ahead. A “proven system” open on his screen, and a picture burning in his head: Cabo, a laptop, a few easy hours a day, and the money finally rolling in.

Three weeks later, it’s 3:00 in the morning.

The Dr Pepper has gone flat. Elena is asleep upstairs — alone, again. And the cursor just blinks at him in the dark.

Failure number forty-one.

Forty-one programs. Thousands of dollars. Hundreds of nights. And the same result every single time.

Robin isn’t lazy. He isn’t dumb. He wants this more than anything in the world.

So why does everything he touches collapse?

At 3:13 a.m., out of options and nearly out of hope, he does the only thing left.

He prays.

And then falls asleep…

…and opens his eyes somewhere else entirely.

A cobblestone path. Towering oaks. Mist so thick behind him it looks like a wall he could touch. No computer. No desk. No hum of the city — just wind, and birdsong, and his own hammering heart.

Ahead of him, glowing with a soft, impossible light, stands an ancient stone archway.

And carved across the top, in letters that pulse as though the stone itself is breathing, are two words:

KNOW THYSELF

Robin thinks he already does. He fought hard, years ago, to learn who he was — a child of God, a man of worth.

But standing here, forty-one failures deep, a harder truth lands:

He knows exactly who he is as a person.

He has no idea who he is as a businessman.

This is where Robin stops chasing the next shortcut… and finally admits the one thing that changes everything:

He doesn’t need another system. He needs to learn.

The journey begins at the archway.
